What approvals do the products have?

The relevant approvals for each product can be found on its datasheet. Most of our products are certified to IEC 60945, and meet the requirements of relevant type approval standards. Is your equipment compatible with NMEA 0183?

Most of our equipment interfaces using the NMEA 0183 standard. Specific information can be checked by looking at the datasheet of each respective product on its web-page. If you are unsure, don’t hesitate to contact us using the contact form.

Does your equipment interface with Step or Synchro formats?

Although our modern ancillary repeaters typically only accept NMEA 0183, we produce a range of interfaces that convert and distribute various signal types. These interfaces can be used to convert outputs to a type that is accepted, or perhaps makes a new gyroscope compatible with a series of older repeaters. Is the Marine Data Systems environmental facility available for testing our products?

Yes! Although we are not a UKAS approved test house, we have the capability to run a wide range of thermal, vibration and shock testing for confidence. Our equipment and expertise outputs test reports that have been accepted by certifying bodies in the past. If you are interested in having equipment tested, please get in touch so we can discuss your requirements, and our ability to meet them.

How do I find a modern alternative to my legacy product?

Because we have made such fantastic progress in the last decade, things have moved on very quickly. Legacy products that accepted and output various data types may no longer have direct replacements, or there may be alternatives that provide a better solution to your requirements. Can I buy spare parts to repair my Marine Data Equipment?

We do not recommend that the equipment is repaired on-board, and as such we do not offer many spare parts. If you are interested in having equipment surveyed and repaired, we offer a specialist RMA (Return Merchandise Authority) service. How does warranty work when I purchase a Marine Data Systems Product?
