How to Take Compass Azimuth Measurements with the MD69AZI Bearing Repeater Compass Sight
Taking Terrestrial Bearings
To take bearings of landmarks or low luminosity objects near to or on the horizon, set the arrow on the prism adjustment thumbwheels to ↓ DOWN. A distant target is sighted directly by the eye and the compass card simultaneously viewed indirectly through the prism. Max. altitude approx. 34° above horizon. If sun filters are required simply move them to the required angle.
