Marine Data Systems becomes a Triple Winner
Marine Data Systems wins three Awards for Excellence at the annual Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce Business Awards Event in the categories for:
- Small Business
- Manufacturing and New Technology
- Business Of The Year
Marine Data Systems has achieved three awards at the Isle Of Wight Chamber of Commerce Business Awards event held at Cowes Yacht Haven on Friday November 22.
Small Business Award
On learning of their Small Business Award win, Marine Data’s Managing Director, Tim Ingram commented:
“Winning the Small Business Award means a great deal to us. We’re proud to be a British company and we pride ourselves in our world-class engineering, expertise and know-how.
“Winning this Award shows that our approach of good quality products and solutions for our customers brings success. And we go on to provide complete support for all our customers, providing service for all our sensor and navigation technology.”
Manufacturing and New Technology Award
On receiving their second nominated award of the evening, Marine Data’s Tim Ingram said:
“Winning a second Award this evening is truly outstanding for us. I’d like to thank our team for all their consistent hard work in achieving this. Our technological roots began way back in the 1950s when our founder, Jack Ingram, headed the development of some of the world’s earliest electronic navigational systems. We‘re proud of our heritage and the success we have achieved today is testament to our team.”
“Our manufacturing, innovation and research is founded on building good relationships with our customers. This demands technological and commercial skill sets which we’ve got right here on the Isle of Wight and which will help us develop as we go forward into the future.”
Business of the Year Award – given by the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce
On being declared Business of the Year 2013, Marine Data’s Tim Ingram said:
“We are so honoured to win this Award, considering the number of other high-tech companies which are also based here on the Island.
This Award reflects the steady growth of our marine equipment sales overseas – and especially to southeast Asia – including China. Our sales growth means that we are seeking to expand our premises to accommodate extra capacity for design, environmental testing and manufacturing.
We design, manufacture and test our products on-site before they are installed on ships around the globe. In this way, we exert a significant global reach whilst being based right here on the Isle of Wight.
Once again, I’d like to thank our team for all they’ve achieved – and I’d also like to thank our Commercial Director, John Poyner, who couldn’t be here to celebrate with us tonight as he’s sailing the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers 2013 – Las Palmas to St Lucia – and all of us here at Marine Data wish him safe voyage and good luck.”
When interviewed by Isle of Wight Radio, Tim Ingram said:
“2013 has brought us great respect from the people and the industry of the Isle of Wight. Other companies have done extremely well; there’s some great technology going on, here on the Island, and we’re so proud that we can actually be at the forefront of technology and prove that the Isle of Wight is a great place for innovation.”
