Marine Data Systems Strengthens Engineering Design and Testing Capability

As part of a major investment to strengthen it’s Engineering, Product Development and Testing Capability, Marine Data Systems has recently commissioned new vibration and shock testing equipment at their Newport, Isle of Wight, Technology Centre.

 

The specialist equipment will be used for product development and type testing to ensure compliance with relevant marine standards for MARINE DATA’s products and provides an almost unique testing capability within a Marine Manufacturing Company. The Company is working in conjunction with the University of Portsmouth’s Department of Mechanical and Design Engineering to further develop the vibration and shock methodology and processes for this enhanced capability.

Marine Data Systems is also pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Yearby who will help drive the Companies extensive product development program alongside Managing Director and Chief Technical Officer, Tim Ingram. A new engineering apprentice position has also been created within the production and test department to further support the Company’s long term growth and development plans.

MARINE DATA is currently working on major military contracts in UK, Spain and Australia.
