The Simrad DR76 Digital Repeater, originally manufactured by Marine Data as an OEM product for Simrad, provides clear and accurate vessel heading indication with a 4-digit backlit LCD display. Designed for precision navigation, it also features an LED bar graph display, which can function as either a rate of turn indicator or a steering indicator, displaying the difference between actual and set course.
For enhanced visibility in all lighting conditions, the LCD backlight and LED brightness levels are independently adjustable via digital controls. The DR76 Digital Repeater receives heading data via RS422 serial input, supporting NMEA 0183 (HDT, HDG, HDM) heading sentences in priority order. It operates on a 24V DC power supply, ensuring reliable performance in demanding marine environments.
The unit is IP33-rated and housed in a rugged aluminium enclosure, providing durability in marine conditions. Designed for flexible installation, it supports panel mounting or optional bracket mounting, allowing for placement in the most convenient location while considering environmental protection, temperature range, and cable length.
