Heading Systems

Marine Data Systems’ Transmitting Heading Devices (THD) provide accurate digital heading data for repeaters, autopilots and other bridge equipment.

Step 1: Choose your Displays

Choose from a Dial, Digital or Tape Display to use to show your compass heading

Step 2: Choose a Junction Box or Data Distribution Unit

Choose from a weatherproof Junction Box, or a Data Distribution Unit for connecting multiple displays and additional functionality

Step 3: Choose what type of system you need

A TMC system uses an existing magnetic compass to obtain heading data. An EMC system, by contrast, generates heading information directly by sensing the Earth’s magnetic field for use within your selected setup.
